the ending's almost embarrassingly perfect. it's all very, very good, but that's a really, really great ending. also nelson - who is possibly my very favourite bit in the show, is just as wonderful here with his much better than john hurt the dragon (sorry, merlin, but to be fair, LoM is better than everything) wisdom and also i like that the body swapping isn't cracky and it makes complete sense within the universe (though, what do you think sam's brain is trying to tell him if, as we can assume, this isn't real?)

gene's "And that means I can't have a little something on the side?" does make me a bit uncomfortable, but then gene/sam in general makes me a bit uncomfortable, and i really like and believe it here, so.

in summary: it's excellent and could well have been a real episode. should have been. much better than bringing alex drake in, mutter mutter grumble broken record, etc. i hope i get over A2A soon...
