This is exactly the type of LOM/Who crossover I was looking for. (although I also still have a yen to see Sam DESTROY 1973 ;). I loved the Sam personality choosing to stay, because on some level he knew what kind of person he'd been and didn't want to become that again. And I agree with your DVD commentary; The doctor is overly optimistic. Being Sam wouldn't have changed the Master. Being Yana hadn't and no one can say the old man wasn't a good person.
